LYDIA VALENTINE

I have attended many churches, however, I always stopped attending because I never felt a connection.  I belong to the African American Club of Citrus County, and when one of our members lost her mother, her family held her going home service at Unity of Citrus County.  I attended that service and when I entered the Sanctuary, I felt as though I had come home.  I went to that Sunday's service and I have been coming ever since.

I began taking classes, started tithing and in 2008 became a member of Unity.  In 2010, my son died suddenly from a brain aneurism and I received a shower of cards with condolences.  I did not know that so many people knew and cared about me.

I joined the Grief Group (Beyond Grief), and I am now the facilitator of the group.  I am currently the coordinator for the Prayer Chaplains for the 2nd year in a row, and I am part of the Helping Hands Ministry.  I also sing in the choir.

Unity is my spiritual home.  I am blessed to be a part of my Unity family and would be honored to help serve my family on the Unity of Citrus County Board.
