NOMINATION TO UNITY OF CITRUS COUNTY BOARD OF TRUSTEES

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Thank you for considering being a candidate for the Board of Trustees of Unity of Citrus County (UOCC).  The greatest responsibility of a Board member is to hold the spiritual trust of the church’s members.  Board members are elected by the membership to represent them - to hold in trust their spiritual home.

As an applicant, if elected to the Board of Trustees, you commit to:

            Holding a high prayer consciousness

Attending monthly meetings (the third Thursday of each month)

Acting as Liaison with Ministry Teams

Tithing regularly (or consistent giver)

Being a current and active member of UOCC

 In addition, candidates for election shall endeavor to live in accordance with the Jesus Christ principles of love and truth as taught by Unity Worldwide Ministries (UWM), and to uphold any current Code of Ethics, Sexual Conduct Policy, Social Media Policy, Mutual Accountability Agreements/Covenant, and other ministry policies located in Unity Church of Citrus County Policy Manual. Such a person shall have the time, skills, and disposition to serve on the board of trustees.

 

Nominating Team

A Nominating Team has been formed to review applications for Board membership, interview qualified candidates, and present a slate of recommended nominees at Unity of Citrus County’s annual membership meeting on Sunday, January 26, 2025. 

The Nominating Team members and former and current Board members are available to answer your questions about Board service. 

Application Process

The attached Board of Trustees Application 2025 is an important part of the nomination process.  Accordingly, carefully, concisely, and prayerfully respond to the statements presented.  If more space is needed beyond that provided, answers may be submitted on a separate sheet noting the applicable statement being addressed.

A standardized application and vetting process shall be used consistently for all potential applicants including any applicable background check and letter of reference. The rational for the recommendations of the Nominating Committee is confidential and shall not be disclosed.

Your completed application along with your biography and a head shot photograph is to be submitted to Helen Oliveira, Chair, Unity of Citrus Nominating Team, in person or by email at: helen.oliveira@unityofcitrus.org .

Once applications have been reviewed, the Nominating Team will determine and notify those candidates to be interviewed. The interview questions will be provided in advance for personal reflection.
